We are ethically and socially responsible in our decision making, understanding that ‘ethical management’ is wider than just meeting our regulatory and legal responsibilities, but being ethically responsible to society at large. Providing customers with access to Alternatively Fueled Vehicles (AFVs) is one example of the role we have to play in sustainable financing.

Simply, this is how Hyundai Capital works.

Hyundai Motor UK

In 1967, in an innovative arrangement, Chung Ju-Yung started the Hyundai Motor Company to build the Cortina in Korea, in association with Ford. Smart enough to realise world-class expertise could unlock lucrative new markets, Chung hired former Austin Morris boss George Turnbull in the 1970s to lead development of the very first Hyundai car.

Within two decades Hyundai was exporting in volume, to the huge US market among others. Today, Hyundai has the world's biggest car plant. Ulsan, in South Korea, builds 1.5 million cars a year - the equivalent of one every 20 seconds, thanks to 34,000 personnel and berths where three 50,000 ton ships can anchor simultaneously. It's also known as the 'forest plant', because it has 58,000 trees landscaped within it.

Kia UK

Kia Motors Corporation was founded in May 1944 and is Korea’s oldest manufacturer of motor vehicles. From humble origins making bicycles and motorcycles, Kia has grown – as part of the dynamic, global Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group – to become the world’s fifth largest vehicle manufacturer.

Today, Kia produces more than 1.4 million vehicles a year at 14 manufacturing and assembly operations in eight countries. These vehicles are sold and serviced through a network of more than 3,000 distributors and dealers covering 172 countries. The Corporation has more than 40,000 employees and annual revenues of more than US$17 billion.

In its ‘home’ country of South Korea, Kia operates three major vehicle assembly plants – the Hwasung, Sohari and Kwangju facilities – plus a world-class research and development centre employing 8,000 technicians at Namyang and a dedicated environmental R&D centre. The Eco-Technology Research Institute, near Seoul, is working on hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles for the future as well as state-of-the-art end-of-life vehicle recycling technologies and processes. Kia spends 6% of its annual revenues on R&D and also runs research centres in the USA, Japan and Germany.

Recently, Kia has completed construction of its first-ever European engine and vehicle assembly plant (in Slovakia) and its second manufacturing facility in China. The building of Kia’s first plant in the USA is progressing on schedule for an opening in late 2009. All three of these new plants have a capacity to build up to 300,000 vehicles annually on flexible assembly lines that can manufacture several different models simultaneously to adapt to global changes in buying trends.

Products & Services

Hyundai Capital UK is committed to providing Hyundai and Kia dealers with a range of products and services needed to meet the high expectations of today's consumers.

Personal Contract Purchase

Personal Contract Purchase is now a well-recognised and attractive product in the UK market and over recent years it’s become a growing success story for Hyundai Capital.

At the start of the customer's agreement we'll set an optional final payment for their chosen car, this will be based on the term and approximate annual mileage.

Customers pay a deposit and then make monthly repayments based on the outstanding loan balance less the optional final payment.

At the end of the agreement customers have three options:

  1. Retain - Pay the optional final payment and take ownership of car.
  2. Return - Hand back the car with nothing more to pay. Subject to mileage and fair wear and tear.
  3. Renew - Part exchange the car and use any equity as a deposit on your car. If any available, which cannot be guaranteed.

Personal Contract Hire

Personal Contract Hire is the choice favoured by people who would prefer to lease a car, rather than own one.  The customer pays an initial upfront advance rental, usually the equivalent to three, six or nine monthly rentals. The customer then pays a fixed monthly rental fee (including VAT) and in return have the right to use the chosen car over a pre-agreed period and mileage.

At the end of the agreement, the car is simply returned without further cost providing it has not exceeded the agreed mileage and that its condition is reflective of its age and mileage.

Business Contract Hire

Business Contract Hire has been designed for small to medium businesses and fleet managers who would like to drive a new car without the risks and impacts of buying the vehicle outright. The fixed monthly rental agreement makes it simple to lease a new car without worrying about depreciation costs or vehicle disposal. The customer pays an initial upfront advance rental, usually the equivalent to three, six or nine monthly rentals. The customer then pays a fixed monthly rental fee (plus VAT) and in return have the right to use the chosen car over a pre-agreed period and mileage.

At the end of the agreement, the car is simply returned without further cost providing it has not exceeded the agreed mileage and that its condition is reflective of its age and mileage.
